Why Us

Why Use Trash Can Willy's in Wilmington

We take the whole basement in one visit rather than one item at a time, for one price you approve first.

No job is too big or too small

One bookcase, or a warehouse bay that has to be empty before the lease is up. You name it, we take it. You point and we remove it from where it sits, so nothing has to come down to the curb and nothing waits for a collection day. We are licensed and insured.

We are the company the town points at

The town says it in its own words: for construction debris, an excessive amount of trash, or bulk items in large quantities, residents are encouraged to hire the services of a private trash removal company. Curbside bulk is one large item a week. We are the company the town is pointing at, and the whole basement goes in one visit.

We do houses, industrial bays and everything between

We do houses and businesses in Wilmington both. Our crews are uniformed, background-checked and insured, and they work a residential driveway or a commercial bay the same way. Tell us the date you have to be clear by and we will book to it.

One trip, whatever the driveway looks like

We use the largest trucks in New England, so a long driveway off Route 38 or a bay that has to be empty before the lease is up is one trip rather than four. Two or three of us come depending on the size of the job, and we watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out. You get a two-hour appointment window and a call when we are 20 minutes out. Up to 85% of what we haul is recycled or donated: things in good condition to local Wilmington charities, materials to approved facilities.

Priced on the work, not the air in the truck

Most junk removal companies charge by how much truck space you use. Bricks or feathers, packed tight or full of air, you can pay the same simply because it takes up the same space. We price the actual job: weight, labor, difficulty and access. And our trucks are huge. Three of many competitors' trucks can fit inside one of ours, which means fewer trips to unload, less time spent dumping and lower costs we can pass on to our customers. Your price is approved before anything moves and doesn't change afterward. Plus, we beat any written quote.

Local. Veteran-owned. No franchise fees.

Steve built Trash Can Willy's on the same principles he learned in the military: show up when we say we will, honor our quote, communicate clearly and leave your property better than we found it. We're local, not a franchise. No call centers, corporate runaround or franchise fees built into your price. We're BBB A+ Accredited, licensed and insured, and a portion of every job supports Wounded Warrior Family Support. Fair pricing. Great communication. No stress. Just a job done right.

FAQ

Questions we get about junk removal in Wilmington

How much can you take in one visit?

As much as fits in the truck, and we will tell you before we come whether that is one load or two. A garage, a basement, a shed and the pile beside it can all go the same afternoon. Nothing is capped by the item, so a whole bedroom set and the carpet that was under it is one job rather than a month of single-item pickups.

What does it cost to get rid of an old fridge?

Single items start at $35, and past that the price follows what the load weighs, the labor it takes and how hard it is to reach, so a fridge on its own sits at the small end and a fridge plus a bedroom set is a bigger job. A any job takes $40 off. We come to the garage or the cellar for it, take the doors off if the stairwell needs it, and the metal goes to a recycler.

Do you take clothes, bedding and household goods?

Yes, and the usable ones do not go for disposal. Clothing, footwear, towels, curtains and fabric come out of a cleanout by the bagful, and we set aside whatever a family could still use for the donation stop before the rest goes to a textile recycler. Sorting that out is our problem rather than yours.

Can you get to an industrial or warehouse address in Wilmington?

Yes, and a good share of our Wilmington work is exactly that. We are fully licensed and insured, US DOT 2420455, with a certificate of insurance on request. Our hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5 and Saturday 8 to 4, so tell us the window when you call and we will fit it.

How fast can you get to Wilmington?

Wilmington is dispatched out of our Lawrence office, and the same trucks work Tewksbury, Reading and Burlington on the same days, so this is a regular run rather than a special trip. Same-day or next-day is often possible.

How do you quote a job?

Call or text 603-490-2177 with a description or a few photos and we give you a price range on the spot. That phone quote is our best guess, not a binding number. When the crew arrives they look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. Once you approve it, it does not change. For big jobs and full cleanouts we come out for a free on-site estimate, Monday to Friday 9 to 5.

Do you beat other quotes?

Yes. Bring us any written estimate from another company and we beat it by up to 10%. And every week we draw one customer's completed job and refund it in full, so keep your receipt.

Do I need to be home?

Not if we can get to the stuff. Plenty of jobs are booked by phone, hauled while you're at work, and closed out with photos and a card payment. If access is tight or you want to point at things yourself, be there and we'll walk it with you.

When will you actually show up?

You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes out, so you're not sitting around all day. Most single-item pickups are done inside an hour of the truck arriving.

What won't you take?

Hazardous waste is the short list: wet paint or stain, gasoline and other flammable liquids loose in cans or drums, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze, motor oil, asbestos and medical waste. A mower, generator or snow blower with fuel or oil still in it is fine: we drain it as part of the job. Fully dried latex paint is fine. Everything else, if two people can lift it and it fits in the truck, we take it.

How do I pay, and how does the $40 off work?

Credit, debit, cash, or estate, certified and business checks. No personal checks. You get an emailed receipt before the truck leaves. Mention the coupon when you book any job and we take $40 off the quoted price, one per job.
