Why Us
Why Use Trash Can Willy's in Burlington
You get a number before anything moves, and our crew does every bit of the carrying. That is what people in Burlington call us for.
No job is too big or too small
One armchair up out of a split-level basement, or an office suite cleared before the lease is up. You name it, we take it. You point and we remove it from where it sits, so nothing has to be carried out to the curb on collection day. We are licensed and insured, and we can work an emergency cleanout when the date was not yours to choose.
We take the tub, the vanity and the tile with it
Toilets, sinks and tubs cannot be disposed of in Burlington at all, and the town publishes no price list for anything else bulky, so you call a hauler and find out what it costs afterwards. We give you the number first. The tub, the vanity, the surround and the tile that came off the wall with them go on one truck, for one price you approve before anything moves.
We work basements, bulkheads and pull-down attics
Most of the houses here are the postwar ranches and split-levels that went up when Route 128 did: a low basement reached by a half flight and a bulkhead, a single-car garage, and an attic behind a pull-down ladder. Our crews measure the turn at the bottom of the stairs before they pick anything up.
One trip, and we leave the house as we found it
We use the largest trucks in New England, so a split-level basement and the garage behind it leave in one trip. Two or three of us come depending on the size of the job, in uniform and background-checked, and we watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out. You get a two-hour appointment window and a call when we are 20 minutes out. Up to 85% of what we haul is recycled or donated, much of it through local Burlington donation centers.
Priced on the work, not the air in the truck
Most junk removal companies charge by how much truck space you use. Bricks or feathers, packed tight or full of air, you can pay the same simply because it takes up the same space. We price the actual job: weight, labor, difficulty and access. And our trucks are huge. Three of many competitors' trucks can fit inside one of ours, which means fewer trips to unload, less time spent dumping and lower costs we can pass on to our customers. Your price is approved before anything moves and doesn't change afterward. Plus, we beat any written quote.
Local. Veteran-owned. No franchise fees.
Steve built Trash Can Willy's on the same principles he learned in the military: show up when we say we will, honor our quote, communicate clearly and leave your property better than we found it. We're local, not a franchise. No call centers, corporate runaround or franchise fees built into your price. We're BBB A+ Accredited, licensed and insured, and a portion of every job supports Wounded Warrior Family Support. Fair pricing. Great communication. No stress. Just a job done right.

Our Reviews
What Burlington customers say about us
Google is where these came from, names and towns and all, none of it written in our office. Burlington's are mostly split-level basements and bulkheads, plus the offices and medical buildings along the Middlesex Turnpike.

Service Areas
The Burlington neighborhoods we cover
We cover the whole town: Winnmere on the southwest side, Fox Hill and Pine Glen the other way, Burlington Center around the Town Common, and North Burlington out toward the Billerica line. The office and medical district along the Middlesex Turnpike, Cambridge Street and Third Avenue is the other half of our work here, and we bring proof of insurance when the building asks for it. Burlington is a regular run for us, not a special trip.
Zip codes we cover in Burlington: 01803.

FAQ
Questions we get about junk removal in Burlington
What happens to everything after you load it?
It gets sorted rather than going out in one pile. Anything still usable, furniture, working appliances, tools and housewares, goes to donation first, and metal, appliances, electronics and cardboard go to recyclers after that. On a normal Burlington load that is most of the truck. Only what nobody can use or recycle goes for disposal.
Where do the old fixtures from a bathroom remodel go?
On our truck, along with everything else that came off the walls. The toilet, the sink, the tub, the vanity, the surround, the tile and the plaster all go in one visit, which is why a bathroom job here usually only needs us once. Tell us roughly what came out of the room and we will give you a price before we start.
Do you charge more for stairs or a long carry?
They are part of the job, so they are part of the quote rather than a surprise on the day. We price on what the load weighs, the labor, the difficulty and how close the truck can get, and we ask about the stairs and the carry before we give you a number. Describe the pile and the route out when you call and we will tell you where it lands before we come.
Can you get a big piece out of a split-level or a low basement?
Yes, and it is most of what we do here. The town is full of ranches and split-levels with a half flight down, a tight turn at the bottom and a bulkhead as the only other way out. We look at the stairs first and take the piece apart if that is what it takes.
How fast can you get to Burlington?
Burlington is dispatched out of our Lawrence office, and the same trucks work Wilmington, Reading and Tewksbury on the same days, so this is a regular run rather than a special trip. Same-day or next-day is often possible.
How do you quote a job?
Call or text 603-490-2177 with a description or a few photos and we give you a price range on the spot. That phone quote is our best guess, not a binding number. When the crew arrives they look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. Once you approve it, it does not change. For big jobs and full cleanouts we come out for a free on-site estimate, Monday to Friday 9 to 5.
Do you beat other quotes?
Yes. Bring us any written estimate from another company and we beat it by up to 10%. And every week we draw one customer's completed job and refund it in full, so keep your receipt.
Do I need to be home?
Not if we can get to the stuff. Plenty of jobs are booked by phone, hauled while you're at work, and closed out with photos and a card payment. If access is tight or you want to point at things yourself, be there and we'll walk it with you.
When will you actually show up?
You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes out, so you're not sitting around all day. Most single-item pickups are done inside an hour of the truck arriving.
What won't you take?
Hazardous waste is the short list: wet paint or stain, gasoline and other flammable liquids loose in cans or drums, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze, motor oil, asbestos and medical waste. A mower, generator or snow blower with fuel or oil still in it is fine: we drain it as part of the job. Fully dried latex paint is fine. Everything else, if two people can lift it and it fits in the truck, we take it.
How do I pay, and how does the $40 off work?
Credit, debit, cash, or estate, certified and business checks. No personal checks. You get an emailed receipt before the truck leaves. Mention the coupon when you book any job and we take $40 off the quoted price, one per job.
