Why Us
Why use Trash Can Willy's in Manchester
We are a local, veteran-owned junk removal company, A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau and 17+ years in business. Here is what that means on a Manchester job.
Just point, and we handle the rest
Single items start at $35 and it runs right up to a whole property cleanout: furniture, appliances, electronics, household clutter, yard debris, construction debris, hot tubs, sheds and pianos. Just point and we handle the rest, wherever the junk sits, so nothing has to be dragged to the curb first. Realtors, landlords and businesses call us for turnovers across the city, and a shared West Side stairwell is ordinary work rather than a surcharge.
Licensed, insured crews and the largest trucks in New England
We use the largest trucks in New England, which on a Manchester job means one trip where a smaller truck needs two, and fewer dump runs inside the price. The crew is two or three trained personnel in uniform, licensed and insured, and they watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way down a stairwell that turns twice. You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes before they pull in.
We take what the city's bulky pickup refuses
The city's curbside appointment will not take construction or demolition debris, electronics of any kind, landscaping material, propane tanks or glass, and it is not offered on a private way or to a commercial property at all. We take the things that list refuses, on your schedule rather than the city's.
Where your load goes
We sort a load rather than tipping it: scrap metal, cardboard and electronics go to recyclers, and usable furniture and household goods go to local reuse partners, which is how up to 85% of what we haul stays out of a landfill. It lowers your final price too, because we discount the items we can resell, donate or recycle. Manchester is run out of our Hooksett yard, one town north, so it is a daily run for us rather than a trip.
Priced on the work, not the air in the truck
Most junk removal companies charge by how much truck space you use. Bricks or feathers, packed tight or full of air, you can pay the same simply because it takes up the same space. We price the actual job: weight, labor, difficulty and access. And our trucks are huge. Three of many competitors' trucks can fit inside one of ours, which means fewer trips to unload, less time spent dumping and lower costs we can pass on to our customers. Your price is approved before anything moves and doesn't change afterward. Plus, we beat any written quote.
Local. Veteran-owned. No franchise fees.
Steve built Trash Can Willy's on the same principles he learned in the military: show up when we say we will, honor our quote, communicate clearly and leave your property better than we found it. We're local, not a franchise. No call centers, corporate runaround or franchise fees built into your price. We're BBB A+ Accredited, licensed and insured, and a portion of every job supports Wounded Warrior Family Support. Fair pricing. Great communication. No stress. Just a job done right.

FAQ
Questions we get about junk removal in Manchester
How much does junk removal in Manchester cost?
Single items start at $35, and $40 comes off any job above that. Past that we price the job itself: what it weighs, the labor it takes, how difficult it is and how hard it is to get to. Anything we can resell, donate or recycle comes off that price, and we beat any written quote you already have in hand.
What do you take in Manchester?
You name it, we take it. Furniture, appliances, electronics, household clutter, yard debris, construction debris, hot tubs, sheds, pianos and the whole contents of a basement, garage or attic. The rule of thumb is simple: if two or three strong guys can lift it, it goes on the truck. The short list we cannot take is hazardous: wet paint, gasoline and other fuels, solvents and propane tanks.
Do you recycle and donate?
Yes, up to 85 percent of what we haul. Usable furniture and household goods go to donation partners, metal goes to scrap and electronics go to a certified recycler. If something coming out of your house still has resale value we take a discount off your price for it, and sometimes we even buy your junk.
Do you do full house cleanouts in Manchester?
Yes, and they are a large part of what we do. Estates, foreclosures, evictions, hoarding situations, move-outs and downsizing, plus the basement, attic or garage on its own. We are the professional experts on cleanouts, hot tubs, sheds and pianos. Where we can we clear the whole property in one visit, sweep it, and send photos when it is empty.
Can you get a sofa down a West Side stairwell?
Yes, and in this city it is most of the job. The multi-families in Rimmon Heights, Notre Dame and Piscataquog share one stairwell for the whole building, and the landings turn twice on the way down. We take the legs off and bring it down with two or three of us on it. If a piece genuinely will not make the turn we tell you before we start.
How soon can you get to Manchester?
Same-day or next-day is often possible. Manchester is served from our Hooksett office, so it is a regular run for us rather than a special trip.
How do you quote a job?
Call or text 603-490-2177 with a description or a few photos and we give you a price range on the spot. That phone quote is our best guess, not a binding number. When the crew arrives they look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. Once you approve it, it does not change. For big jobs and full cleanouts we come out for a free on-site estimate, Monday to Friday 9 to 5.
Do you beat other quotes?
Yes. Bring us any written estimate from another company and we beat it by up to 10%. And every week we draw one customer's completed job and refund it in full, so keep your receipt.
Do I need to be home?
Not if we can get to the stuff. Plenty of jobs are booked by phone, hauled while you're at work, and closed out with photos and a card payment. If access is tight or you want to point at things yourself, be there and we'll walk it with you.
When will you actually show up?
You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes out, so you're not sitting around all day. Most single-item pickups are done inside an hour of the truck arriving.
What won't you take?
Hazardous waste is the short list: wet paint or stain, gasoline and other flammable liquids loose in cans or drums, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze, motor oil, asbestos and medical waste. A mower, generator or snow blower with fuel or oil still in it is fine: we drain it as part of the job. Fully dried latex paint is fine. Everything else, if two people can lift it and it fits in the truck, we take it.
How do I pay, and how does the $40 off work?
Credit, debit, cash, or estate, certified and business checks. No personal checks. You get an emailed receipt before the truck leaves. Mention the coupon when you book any job and we take $40 off the quoted price, one per job.
