Why Us
Why Use Trash Can Willy's in Waltham
A basement is one job and we treat it like one. The sectional, the workbench, the boxes, the old washer and the carpet that came up with them all go in a single visit.
No job is too big or too small
One bookcase carried down from a third-floor walkup off Moody Street, or a full estate cleanout up in Piety Corner. You name it, we take it. You point and we remove it from where it sits. We are licensed and insured.
One price, one afternoon, everything out
Bulk pickup here is one item a week, and a building over six units is told to arrange its own collection through a private hauler. On our visit the washer, the refrigerator, the sofa, the boxes and the carpet all go out together, on one price and one afternoon.
A basement is one job and we treat it as one
We use the largest trucks in New England, so a whole basement leaves in one visit rather than one item a week for the rest of the year. Two or three of us come depending on the size of the job, trained personnel who watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out. You get a two-hour appointment window and a call when we are 20 minutes out. Up to 85% of what we haul is recycled or donated.
We work multi-family buildings and converted mills
The blocks below Moody Street and through the Bleachery are packed multi-families with one shared stairwell, and the old watch factory on the Charles is apartments now. Our crews know which pieces have to come apart before they come down, and how to work a building where three other tenants use the same stairs.
Priced on the work, not the air in the truck
Most junk removal companies charge by how much truck space you use. Bricks or feathers, packed tight or full of air, you can pay the same simply because it takes up the same space. We price the actual job: weight, labor, difficulty and access. And our trucks are huge. Three of many competitors' trucks can fit inside one of ours, which means fewer trips to unload, less time spent dumping and lower costs we can pass on to our customers. Your price is approved before anything moves and doesn't change afterward. Plus, we beat any written quote.
Local. Veteran-owned. No franchise fees.
Steve built Trash Can Willy's on the same principles he learned in the military: show up when we say we will, honor our quote, communicate clearly and leave your property better than we found it. We're local, not a franchise. No call centers, corporate runaround or franchise fees built into your price. We're BBB A+ Accredited, licensed and insured, and a portion of every job supports Wounded Warrior Family Support. Fair pricing. Great communication. No stress. Just a job done right.

Service Areas
The Waltham neighborhoods we cover
We cover the whole city, both sides of the Charles: the South Side, the Bleachery, Banks Square at the west end, Warrendale on the Watertown border, the Highlands above the rail line, then Piety Corner, Cedarwood, Ravenswood and Lakeview, and Roberts down in the southern tip. Waltham is a regular run for us, not a special trip, and a job that straddles the Watertown, Belmont, Newton, Weston or Lexington line is still one job.
Zip codes we cover in Waltham: 02451, 02452 and 02453.

FAQ
Questions we get about junk removal in Waltham
What does a basement cleanout cost in Waltham?
It is priced on what the load weighs, the labor it takes and how hard it is to reach, not by the piece. Single items start at $35, $40 comes off any job above that, and the crew confirms the figure before anything is lifted. A basement under one of the multi-families off Moody Street is a small job and a whole house is a bigger one, and we will tell you which on the phone.
Can you get a sofa down a three-story walkup?
Yes, and it is most of what we do below Moody Street. The mill housing there went up three stories with one stairwell for everybody and no service entrance to fall back on, so the piece comes down the same stairs your neighbors use. We work out whether it goes down whole or in parts before we start, and we watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out.
My building has more than six units. Can you still come?
Yes. The size of the building makes no difference to us, which is why property managers on the South Side and around Brandeis and Bentley call us at turnover: one visit, one price, everything out, including whatever the last tenant left behind. Tell us the floor and the door when you book.
Can your truck get down my street on the South Side or in the Bleachery?
Yes, though the Bleachery and the streets below Moody are the ones we plan for. They were laid out for mill workers who walked to the watch factory, so they are narrow, they are parked solid on both sides, and several of them only work in one direction for anything the size of a box truck. We work the approach out before the day rather than discovering it, and we carry from wherever we can stop legally. Tell us the street when you book.
How fast can you get to Waltham?
We cover Massachusetts out of our Framingham office, northeast on the Pike and up I-95 and Route 128 to the Route 20 rotary, which puts us on the west side of the city. Same-day or next-day is often possible.
How do you quote a job?
Call or text 603-490-2177 with a description or a few photos and we give you a price range on the spot. That phone quote is our best guess, not a binding number. When the crew arrives they look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. Once you approve it, it does not change. For big jobs and full cleanouts we come out for a free on-site estimate, Monday to Friday 9 to 5.
Do you beat other quotes?
Yes. Bring us any written estimate from another company and we beat it by up to 10%. And every week we draw one customer's completed job and refund it in full, so keep your receipt.
Do I need to be home?
Not if we can get to the stuff. Plenty of jobs are booked by phone, hauled while you're at work, and closed out with photos and a card payment. If access is tight or you want to point at things yourself, be there and we'll walk it with you.
When will you actually show up?
You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes out, so you're not sitting around all day. Most single-item pickups are done inside an hour of the truck arriving.
What won't you take?
Hazardous waste is the short list: wet paint or stain, gasoline and other flammable liquids loose in cans or drums, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze, motor oil, asbestos and medical waste. A mower, generator or snow blower with fuel or oil still in it is fine: we drain it as part of the job. Fully dried latex paint is fine. Everything else, if two people can lift it and it fits in the truck, we take it.
How do I pay, and how does the $40 off work?
Credit, debit, cash, or estate, certified and business checks. No personal checks. You get an emailed receipt before the truck leaves. Mention the coupon when you book any job and we take $40 off the quoted price, one per job.
