Our Story

Meet the Owner

At Trash Can Willy's we provide professional, full-service junk removal and property cleanout services across New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Our mission is simple: treat every customer like our only customer, with fair, upfront pricing and dependable service. From small pickups to full property cleanouts, our local crews work on speed, care and transparency, without the hassle.

Steve Heimsath, a US veteran, moved to New Hampshire, needed a load of junk taken away, and was overpriced by the junk removal services he called. He wanted to give people a better and more affordable option.

He bought a Ford Explorer, hitched a small trailer to it, and started hauling. Seventeen years later the trucks are bigger and there are four offices, but the thing that has not changed is that Steve is still in it: on estimates, on training, and on the phone when it rings.

The four yards are Hooksett, NH, Rochester, NH, Framingham, MA and Lawrence, MA. The price is the same from any of them.

We are a small business, so we support our own community and we hire local. A portion of all proceeds goes to the Wounded Warriors Family Support Fund.

Steve Heimsath

Owner, US veteran

I am a proud U.S. veteran and the founder of Trash Can Willy's. I started this company after being overpriced by junk removal services when I moved to New Hampshire. I wanted to give people a better and more affordable option, so I started with a Ford Explorer and a small trailer. Today we are one of the top-rated junk removal services in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and I am still on estimates, on training and on customer experience across every location.

How We Work

What Sets Us Apart

Veteran-owned and operated

Steve is a proud U.S. veteran and he founded the company. A portion of all proceeds goes to the Wounded Warriors Family Support Fund.

Our own employees on every job

The crew that shows up works here. They are uniformed, background-checked and trained, and they watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out.

You know the price before we touch anything

We price on what we estimate the load weighs, how long the job takes and how hard it is to reach. Not on how much of a truck you filled. You approve the number first, and it does not move afterward.

The landfill is the last stop, not the first

Metal goes to scrap, electronics to proper recycling, cardboard and paper out of the waste stream, and anything still usable gets donated. It is not always possible, but it is always the first thing we try.

Licensed and insured, US DOT 2420455. Need the certificate for a building or an HOA? Proof of insurance is here.

Why the name?

Our name comes from our favorite character, Junk Yard Willy. It is a reminder that getting rid of junk does not have to be stressful or complicated, and that good service can still have some personality to it.

Great experience every time we use Trash Can Willy's. The guys showed up on time and were very polite and personable. They managed to pack 30 years of junk into one truck with no room to spare!
