Why Us

Why Use Trash Can Willy's in Lowell

We are local to and service all of the Lowell area, and we have been doing it for 17 years. No job too large or small, you name it we take it, and we do all the work removing your junk from where it sits. You just point.

No job is too big or too small

One dehumidifier off a third-floor walkup, or a full estate cleanout up on Belvidere Hill. You name it, we take it. You point and we remove it from where it sits, so nothing gets dragged down a shared stairwell by you. Sometimes we even buy your junk.

We take the whole load at once

Bulky items are not a city service in Lowell. The city's own answer for anything big is to book it with the hauler and pay for it yourself, on top of the trash and recycling charge on your water bill. A cleared apartment is not one item, so people call us and take the whole load out at once.

We carry out of three-families and mill lofts

A lot of Lowell work is three-family houses and converted mill lofts with one shared stairwell. Our crews take apart what has to come apart and carry everything out from the apartment rather than meeting you at the street. You point, we haul.

The largest trucks in New England

We use the largest trucks in New England, which means fewer trips to the dump, lower labor costs and a saving we pass on. Two or three of us come depending on the size of the job, trained personnel who watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out. You get a two-hour appointment window and a call when we are 20 minutes out. Up to 85% of what we haul is recycled or donated.

Priced on the work, not the air in the truck

Most junk removal companies charge by how much truck space you use. Bricks or feathers, packed tight or full of air, you can pay the same simply because it takes up the same space. We price the actual job: weight, labor, difficulty and access. And our trucks are huge. Three of many competitors' trucks can fit inside one of ours, which means fewer trips to unload, less time spent dumping and lower costs we can pass on to our customers. Your price is approved before anything moves and doesn't change afterward. Plus, we beat any written quote.

Local. Veteran-owned. No franchise fees.

Steve built Trash Can Willy's on the same principles he learned in the military: show up when we say we will, honor our quote, communicate clearly and leave your property better than we found it. We're local, not a franchise. No call centers, corporate runaround or franchise fees built into your price. We're BBB A+ Accredited, licensed and insured, and a portion of every job supports Wounded Warrior Family Support. Fair pricing. Great communication. No stress. Just a job done right.

The Lowell neighborhoods we cover

A job that straddles the Dracut, Chelmsford, Tewksbury, Billerica or Tyngsborough line is still one job to us.

FAQ

Questions we get about junk removal in Lowell

What does a cleanout cost in Lowell?

It depends on what the load weighs, the labor it takes and how hard it is to reach. Single items start at $35, $40 comes off any job above that, and the crew confirms the number before anything is lifted. An apartment turnover is a small job and a full three-family after a tenant moves out is a bigger one. The stairs are labor, so they are in the quote from the start.

Can you take furniture out of a Boott Mills loft?

Yes, and it is a lot of what we do here. We do all the work and take it from wherever it sits, so nothing has to come out to the hallway or the curb first. Tell us the building and the floor when you book.

Do you clear rental units at the end of the month?

Yes. Book early once you have a date. We clear the unit in one visit, sweep it, and can work around a walkthrough or a new tenant moving in the same week. Owners usually want the number in advance, and we give it before the day rather than after.

What happens to the load after you take it?

Not to one place, and not in one pile. A lot of what comes out of a Lowell apartment turnover is still perfectly good, a working fridge, a kitchen table, a bagful of housewares, and that is set aside for donation before anything else is decided. Metal and appliances go to a scrap yard and electronics go to an electronics recycler. What is genuinely finished is the last and smallest part of the load. If a piece should be kept back, tell us while we are loading.

How fast can you get to Lowell?

Lowell is dispatched out of our Lawrence office, eleven miles up the Merrimack, so it is a regular run rather than a special trip. Same-day or next-day is often possible.

How do you quote a job?

Call or text 603-490-2177 with a description or a few photos and we give you a price range on the spot. That phone quote is our best guess, not a binding number. When the crew arrives they look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. Once you approve it, it does not change. For big jobs and full cleanouts we come out for a free on-site estimate, Monday to Friday 9 to 5.

Do you beat other quotes?

Yes. Bring us any written estimate from another company and we beat it by up to 10%. And every week we draw one customer's completed job and refund it in full, so keep your receipt.

Do I need to be home?

Not if we can get to the stuff. Plenty of jobs are booked by phone, hauled while you're at work, and closed out with photos and a card payment. If access is tight or you want to point at things yourself, be there and we'll walk it with you.

When will you actually show up?

You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes out, so you're not sitting around all day. Most single-item pickups are done inside an hour of the truck arriving.

What won't you take?

Hazardous waste is the short list: wet paint or stain, gasoline and other flammable liquids loose in cans or drums, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze, motor oil, asbestos and medical waste. A mower, generator or snow blower with fuel or oil still in it is fine: we drain it as part of the job. Fully dried latex paint is fine. Everything else, if two people can lift it and it fits in the truck, we take it.

How do I pay, and how does the $40 off work?

Credit, debit, cash, or estate, certified and business checks. No personal checks. You get an emailed receipt before the truck leaves. Mention the coupon when you book any job and we take $40 off the quoted price, one per job.
