Why Us

Why Use Trash Can Willy's in Haverhill

The whole pile goes at once, for one price you approve before anything moves. Here is what people here call us for.

No job is too big or too small

One dresser out of a Bradford bedroom, or a whole three-family cleared between tenants. You name it, we take it. You point and we remove it from where it sits, so nothing has to come down to the curb and nothing waits for a collection day. We are licensed and insured.

We come to the door on a date you pick

The city's recycle center takes Haverhill and Bradford residents only, and the one free bulk item has to be booked days before your trash day. That is not a schedule anyone can plan a cleared house around. We come to the door on a date you pick and take the lot in one visit.

We come equipped for narrow stairs and tight landings

We know every Haverhill neighborhood, from Bradford to Riverside, and we know what the older houses here do to a job: cramped basements, narrow staircases, tight landings and multi-story buildings with no storage to spare. Our crews come equipped for that and take pieces apart rather than force them.

One visit instead of one item a week

We use the largest trucks in New England, so a three-family cleared between tenants goes in one visit rather than a bulk item a week. Two or three of us come depending on the size of the job, trained personnel who watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out. You get a two-hour appointment window and a call when we are 20 minutes out. Up to 85% of what we haul is recycled or donated, with usable items going to local charities first.

Priced on the work, not the air in the truck

Most junk removal companies charge by how much truck space you use. Bricks or feathers, packed tight or full of air, you can pay the same simply because it takes up the same space. We price the actual job: weight, labor, difficulty and access. And our trucks are huge. Three of many competitors' trucks can fit inside one of ours, which means fewer trips to unload, less time spent dumping and lower costs we can pass on to our customers. Your price is approved before anything moves and doesn't change afterward. Plus, we beat any written quote.

Local. Veteran-owned. No franchise fees.

Steve built Trash Can Willy's on the same principles he learned in the military: show up when we say we will, honor our quote, communicate clearly and leave your property better than we found it. We're local, not a franchise. No call centers, corporate runaround or franchise fees built into your price. We're BBB A+ Accredited, licensed and insured, and a portion of every job supports Wounded Warrior Family Support. Fair pricing. Great communication. No stress. Just a job done right.

Service Areas

The Haverhill neighborhoods we cover

We cover the whole city on both sides of the river, Bradford included. Bradford is the part of Haverhill south of the Merrimack and it still feels like its own place, with its own older streets and its own way in and out. Haverhill is a regular run for us, and the same trucks work Methuen, Lawrence, North Andover, Amesbury and Merrimac through the week, so a job that straddles a town line is still one job.

Zip codes we cover in Haverhill: 01830, 01832 and 01835.

Don't see your street? Call or text 603-490-2177. If the truck can reach you, we can haul it.

FAQ

Questions we get about junk removal in Haverhill

How fast can you get to Haverhill?

Lawrence is our own yard and it is eight miles up the river, so Haverhill is a short run for us rather than a special trip. Same-day or next-day is often possible. Call or text 603-490-2177 before noon and we can usually be at your door that afternoon.

What does a basement or garage cleanout cost here?

It depends on what the load weighs, the labor it takes and how hard it is to reach. Single items start at $35, $40 comes off any job above that, and the crew confirms the exact number before anything is lifted. A garage is a small job, a full basement is bigger, and a three-family cleared between tenants can be more than one truck. Tell us about the stairs and the driveway when you call.

Can you get a sofa out of a Bradford three-family?

Yes, and Bradford is where we do most of it. Those houses sit tight to the road with short steep driveways, so the truck often parks further off than you would like and the carry starts before the front door. Inside, one stairwell serves the whole house and it turns at every landing. Two or three of us come, we protect the trim and the treads on the way down, and we keep the stairs passable because your neighbors are still using them.

Do you take mattresses and box springs?

Yes, as part of a normal load. Mattresses carry a disposal charge on top of the weight and the time, so tell us how many you have when you call and it goes into the price up front.

What happens to everything after it leaves?

Donation first, recycling second, disposal last, and in that order every time. Furniture that still stands up, working appliances, tools and housewares go to a donation stop. Metal, appliances, electronics and cardboard go to recyclers. What is left is the only part that goes for disposal. If something in the pile should be kept back, tell us while we are loading.

How do you quote a job?

Call or text 603-490-2177 with a description or a few photos and we give you a price range on the spot. That phone quote is our best guess, not a binding number. When the crew arrives they look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. Once you approve it, it does not change. For big jobs and full cleanouts we come out for a free on-site estimate, Monday to Friday 9 to 5.

Do you beat other quotes?

Yes. Bring us any written estimate from another company and we beat it by up to 10%. And every week we draw one customer's completed job and refund it in full, so keep your receipt.

Do I need to be home?

Not if we can get to the stuff. Plenty of jobs are booked by phone, hauled while you're at work, and closed out with photos and a card payment. If access is tight or you want to point at things yourself, be there and we'll walk it with you.

When will you actually show up?

You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes out, so you're not sitting around all day. Most single-item pickups are done inside an hour of the truck arriving.

What won't you take?

Hazardous waste is the short list: wet paint or stain, gasoline and other flammable liquids loose in cans or drums, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze, motor oil, asbestos and medical waste. A mower, generator or snow blower with fuel or oil still in it is fine: we drain it as part of the job. Fully dried latex paint is fine. Everything else, if two people can lift it and it fits in the truck, we take it.

How do I pay, and how does the $40 off work?

Credit, debit, cash, or estate, certified and business checks. No personal checks. You get an emailed receipt before the truck leaves. Mention the coupon when you book any job and we take $40 off the quoted price, one per job.
