Why Us

Why Use Trash Can Willy's in Merrimac

Nothing you own is too long, too heavy or too awkward for us, and our crew does every bit of the lifting.

No job is too big or too small

One refrigerator carried up out of a cellar, or a whole house. You name it, we take it. You point and we remove it from where it sits, so nothing has to come down to the curb, nothing needs a sticker and nothing waits for a collection day. We do not take a deck off a house, and treehouses are a no.

No length limit, and the renovation debris goes too

Nothing you own is too long or too heavy for us. The town turns away anything six feet or more at the curb, it takes no construction material, building material or glass at all, and the state disposal ban keeps a mattress out of the regular trash here. A bathroom rip-out, a kitchen, decking you have already pulled up or a torn-down shed goes on our truck in the same visit as the furniture, loaded by our crew rather than by you.

The biggest trucks and a careful crew

We use the largest trucks in New England, so a whole house goes in one load rather than an appliance a month. Two or three of us come depending on the size of the job, with floor coverings down and careful navigation through your home, and we watch your corners, your carpets and your floors on the way out. You get a two-hour appointment window and a call when we are 20 minutes out. Up to 85% of what we haul is recycled at Massachusetts facilities or donated to organizations around the Merrimack Valley.

Senior and veteran discounts

10% savings for Merrimac residents 65 and older, plus special pricing for veterans, as our way of giving back. Tell us when you book and we take it off the quoted price.

Priced on the work, not the air in the truck

Most junk removal companies charge by how much truck space you use. Bricks or feathers, packed tight or full of air, you can pay the same simply because it takes up the same space. We price the actual job: weight, labor, difficulty and access. And our trucks are huge. Three of many competitors' trucks can fit inside one of ours, which means fewer trips to unload, less time spent dumping and lower costs we can pass on to our customers. Your price is approved before anything moves and doesn't change afterward. Plus, we beat any written quote.

Local. Veteran-owned. No franchise fees.

Steve built Trash Can Willy's on the same principles he learned in the military: show up when we say we will, honor our quote, communicate clearly and leave your property better than we found it. We're local, not a franchise. No call centers, corporate runaround or franchise fees built into your price. We're BBB A+ Accredited, licensed and insured, and a portion of every job supports Wounded Warrior Family Support. Fair pricing. Great communication. No stress. Just a job done right.

Service Areas

The Merrimac streets we cover

We cover the whole town, from the center out to the town lines and down to the north bank of the river. Merrimac is a regular run for us rather than a special trip, and the same trucks work Amesbury and Haverhill on the same days, so a job that straddles a town line is still one job. Worth saying for anyone who landed here by mistake: this is Merrimac, Massachusetts, not Merrimack, New Hampshire, which has its own page. Merrimac sits on the north bank of the Merrimack, on the south-eastern border of New Hampshire.

Zip codes we cover in Merrimac: 01860.

FAQ

Questions we get about junk removal in Merrimac

What does junk removal cost in Merrimac?

It comes down to what the load weighs, the labor it takes and how hard it is to reach. Single items start at $35, $40 comes off any job above that, and the crew confirms the exact number before anything is lifted. One appliance out of a cellar is a small job. A whole garage or a house being cleared is a bigger one, and we will tell you which you have on the phone rather than on the day.

Can you get a sectional out of an old house?

Yes. The houses near the center have narrow stairs, original trim and a turn at the landing, so we measure before we lift and take the piece apart rather than force it. A rolled carpet, a headboard or a countertop is the same story. Nothing has to be cut down to fit on our truck, and nothing gets wedged on a landing.

Will you take renovation debris?

Yes, all of it, on the same visit as the furniture and the appliances. The town collects no construction or building material at the curb, so this is usually the part people are stuck with. Cabinets, vanities, plaster, tile, decking you have already pulled up, strapping and shingles go on the truck and our crew loads them. We do not take a deck off a house, and treehouses are a no. What we cannot take is the hazardous list: wet paint and stain, gasoline, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze and motor oil.

Where does it all end up?

Usable furniture, working appliances, tools and housewares go to donation first, then metal, appliances, electronics and cardboard go to recyclers, and only what nobody can use is left for disposal. On a normal load out of a Merrimac cellar that last part is small. If something still has life in it, say so while we are loading and we will make sure it goes to the donation stop.

Do you actually come out to Merrimac, or only the bigger towns?

We come out. Merrimac is a regular stop rather than a special trip: our Massachusetts work runs out of the Lawrence office and the same trucks work Amesbury and Haverhill on the same days. We provide service throughout Merrimac, including West Merrimac and rural properties. No area is too remote for our team to reach.

Are you licensed for commercial work in Merrimac?

Yes. We are fully licensed for both residential and commercial projects throughout Massachusetts, including office cleanouts and business renovations. We are licensed for contractor waste removal around Merrimac too, which is the renovation debris a regular trash service will not touch.

How do you quote a job?

Call or text 603-490-2177 with a description or a few photos and we give you a price range on the spot. That phone quote is our best guess, not a binding number. When the crew arrives they look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. Once you approve it, it does not change. For big jobs and full cleanouts we come out for a free on-site estimate, Monday to Friday 9 to 5.

Do you beat other quotes?

Yes. Bring us any written estimate from another company and we beat it by up to 10%. And every week we draw one customer's completed job and refund it in full, so keep your receipt.

Do I need to be home?

Not if we can get to the stuff. Plenty of jobs are booked by phone, hauled while you're at work, and closed out with photos and a card payment. If access is tight or you want to point at things yourself, be there and we'll walk it with you.

When will you actually show up?

You get a two-hour arrival window and a courtesy call about 20 minutes out, so you're not sitting around all day. Most single-item pickups are done inside an hour of the truck arriving.

What won't you take?

Hazardous waste is the short list: wet paint or stain, gasoline and other flammable liquids loose in cans or drums, propane tanks, solvents, acids, antifreeze, motor oil, asbestos and medical waste. A mower, generator or snow blower with fuel or oil still in it is fine: we drain it as part of the job. Fully dried latex paint is fine. Everything else, if two people can lift it and it fits in the truck, we take it.

How do I pay, and how does the $40 off work?

Credit, debit, cash, or estate, certified and business checks. No personal checks. You get an emailed receipt before the truck leaves. Mention the coupon when you book any job and we take $40 off the quoted price, one per job.
